Services

BrickStor SP uses internal services to provide various functions. All of these services are expected to be enabled and healthy. To check a service’s status, navigate to the Services page.

Managing services is advanced functionality that should only be done with guidance from RackTop support.

Restart a service

To restart a service, follow the steps below:

  1. Navigate to the Services page.

  2. Find the desired service to restart.

  3. Click the action cog (Gear) next to the service name and select Restart Service.

  4. Click Restart.

Disable a service

Services should not be disabled unless otherwise instructed by RackTop support.

To disable a service, follow the steps below:

  1. Navigate to the Services page.

  2. Find the desired service to disable.

  3. Click the action cog (Gear) next to the service name and select Disable Service.

  4. Enter the reason for disabling the service.

  5. Click Disable.

Enable a service

To enable a previously disabled service, follow the steps below:

  1. Navigate to the Services page.

  2. Find the desired service to enable.

  3. Click the action cog (Gear) next to the service name and select Enable Service.

  4. Click Enable.

Refresh a service

To refresh a service, follow the steps below:

  1. Navigate to the Services page.

  2. Find the desired service to refresh.

  3. Click the action cog (Gear) next to the service name and select Refresh Service.

  4. Click Refresh.

View service log

The service log of a service will document any administrative interactions with that service, such as starting, stopping, restarting, or refreshing the service.

To view the service log of a specific service, follow the steps below:

  1. Navigate to the Services page.

  2. Find the desired service to view the service log.

  3. Click the action cog (Gear) next to the service name and select View Service Log. == View daemon log Daemon logs record the activity and errors of background system processes. They’re used for monitoring and troubleshooting system services.

To view the daemon log of a specific service, follow the steps below:

  1. Navigate to the Services page.

  2. Find the desired service to view the daemon log.

  3. Click the action cog (Gear) next to the service name and select View Daemon Log.
