Hot spares

Hot Spares provide pool protection by automatically taking the place of a faulted disk drive. To read more about Hot Spares, check out the About Hot Spares.

To add one or more Hot Spares to an existing pool:

  1. Navigate to the desired pool.

  2. Click Add spare in the Available Drives Detected Card.

  3. Select a Drive Type.

  4. Enter a Drive Count.

  5. Click Add spare to confirm.
