Scan and Repair Scan/scrub is a maintenance operation that verifies data integrity and attempts to repair any detected errors due to hardware faults or disk failure. The primary purpose of a scrub is to examine all data in the specified storage pools to verify that it checksums correctly. For redundant configurations (such as raidz), ZFS automatically repairs any damage discovered during the scrub. Scans are I/O-intensive so they can impact system performance when active. Start a Pool Scan Select the pool Click the Start scan button located at the top of the page. Click Start scan again to confirm the action. Once the scan is started, the pool will show Scanning status badge until the scan is complete. View details of the scan’s progress within the General card of the pool that is actively being scanned. Once the scan is finished, the scanning details box will disappear and all discovered issues will be flagged.
