About SMB The Server Message Block (SMB) protocol facilitates network file sharing, enabling applications to interact with files, request services, and access remote resources within a computer network. SMB operates over TCP/IP or other network protocols, permitting remote access to files for reading, creation, and updates. The SMB main page is divided into two sections: Toolbar - Provides functionality to create, search, filter, and export the dataset table. Dataset Table - Displays all SMB enabled datasets on the appliance with varying informative fields depending on the filter. To edit an existing SMB Share, click the Cog icon and select Edit SMB.
